The idea floated around for a while to write a song about Starbucks' growing monopoly over the coffee industry. Then we got the chorus and a couple verses... Finished it up a couple weeks later. A favorite of our friend, Seneca and many of the campers circa 2002.
lyrics
Hey Starbucks
Get outta my neighborhood
Every time I look around
You are there to be found
Hey Starbucks
How many stores do you need?
How many folks do you overcharge
How many kids do you feed?
None!
Went to the Taj Majal
Ordered a cup of joe
When I asked where it was from
They said you dont want to know
Went to Ellis Island
The Statue of Liberty
And when I went into the crown
What do you think I did see?
They were serving frappucino
Giving out cappucino
Dishing out mochachino
This and that a-chino
Hey Starbucks
Get outta my neighborhood
Every time I look around
You are there to be found
Hey Starbucks
How many stores do you need?
How many folks do you overcharge
How many kids do you feed?
None!
Went to Mt. Rushmore
Lookin' at Roosevelt
Was surprised to see
A Starbucks in his belt
Yeah Mt. Rushmore
Washington was big
Was surprised to see
A Starbucks in his wig
Then I went to Notre Dam
Flew to Vietnam
Ended up in Guam
And all of them served Non
Fat, Decaf, Lates, From Starbucks
Hey Starbucks
Get outta my neighborhood
Every time I look around
You are there to be found
Hey Starbucks
How many stores do you need?
How many folks do you overcharge
How many kids do you feed?
None!
